NO, Muslims are NOT celebrating 9/11 Attacks

If you see Muslim neighbours celebrating on the night of September 11, please note that they are not celebrating the 9/11 attacks, as some right-wing pundits might claim.

You see, the religious holiday of Eid al-Adha falls on September 12 this year, a coincidence many in the Muslim community have feared.

So why would some Muslims start commemorating this holiday on the night of September 11, you ask?

This is down to the fact that Muslim holidays begin at sundown the evening before the actual date. So, if you do see Muslim neighbours in good spirits on 9/11, they are not celebrating the attacks. And if you’re uncertain, just go and ask them politely.

By the way: the Muslim community takes the 9/11 commemoration very seriously.
